About Us
About Us
Welcome to My Happy Hunan Kitchen
At My Happy Hunan Kitchen, we bring the bold and vibrant flavors of Hunan province to the heart of Boston. Our restaurant was created with one simple mission: to serve authentic Hunan cuisine prepared true to tradition, using high-quality ingredients and time-honored cooking techniques.
Hunan cuisine is known for its deep, complex flavors — rich spices, fresh chilies, fragrant garlic, and slow-developed sauces. Unlike many Americanized Chinese dishes, our food stays true to its roots, delivering the bold heat and layered taste that make Hunan cuisine one of China’s most celebrated culinary traditions.
Our Philosophy
We believe food is more than a meal — it’s a shared experience.
Our dishes are designed to be enjoyed family-style, encouraging conversation, connection, and community. Every plate that leaves our kitchen reflects:
Authentic recipes rooted in Hunan tradition
Fresh, high-quality ingredients

Whether you’re joining us for a casual dinner, celebrating a special occasion, or hosting a private group event, our space is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and refined.
From professionals and families to food enthusiasts and members of the Chinese and Asian communities, we are proud to serve guests who appreciate genuine cuisine and a memorable dining experience.
At My Happy Hunan Kitchen, authenticity is not a trend — it’s our foundation.
